Our Heroes Behind The Mask: Part 2

our heroes behind the mask

We had the chance to discuss with more of our caregivers what they think is the most difficult part about being a caregiver during these times and how they have gotten through it. Here’s what they had to say.

Emerald P. (Top Left) – The most difficult part of being a caregiver during these times is knowing that at any time you could lose a patient at any time. As well as exposure to COVID. Knowing you can be exposed at any moment, or expose a patient is terrifying. It is important to wear all PPE required.

Bianca M. (Top Right) – The most difficult part about being a caregiver during these times is constantly worrying about COVID. The way I’ve gotten through it is wearing a mask, sanitizing, and constantly washing my hands before and after any activity.

“Let’s keep our clients and our families safe!”

Lilia D. (Bottom Left) – I think there are multiple factors that make this time challenging. Everyone has to really be cautious when going out or being around others to not get this virus. I think it plays a big role because we also have to watch out for it and what happens when we get it? I think the hardest thing for me was having to take that month off when I caught it and be away from my client. I grew a special bond with him and the family and they felt like part of my own. When I heard of his passing, my heart broke because I felt like I let him down. He didn’t have COVID; but this was something expected.
I think making sure that your health comes first is important in all this because if you’re not healthy then we can’t take care of our clients. I hope others continue to take this seriously. Let’s keep our clients and our families safe!

Cori C (Bottom Right) – I feel the hardest part of being a caregiver right now is wearing the masks. It hard at times for the client to hear me and also hard to breath at times.
